20 Best Snack Ideas when Dieting

Snacking is just about the most natural thing a person does. It helps us get from breakfast to lunch and from lunch until supper and from supper to bedtime. Snacks can also give you that boost of energy you need in the middle of the afternoon to keep you going until the end of your workday. Snacking can also get you into trouble if you snack on the wrong thing or snack too much. The result is extra weight! With this in mind, I have compiled a list of my favorite things to snack on while on a Weight Watcher’s diet.

1. Oatmeal – 3 points
This was on my breakfast list too. I can’t help it. I love it and it’s so satisfying. Not only does it make you feel full, it’s one of the ultimate comfort foods!

2. Sugar-free & fat-free puddings – 0 or 1 point
These are good when you need a chocolate fix!

3. Weight Watchers’ bagel – 1 point
Just smear on a tad of cream cheese for an extra point or less if you like the fat-free version. (I don’t.)

4. Campbells’ Soup at Hand – 1 – 3 points, depending on type.
I love the Vegetable Medley Blend at only 1 point.

5. Sugar-free Jello gelatin – 0 points
this comes in many flavors to suit your taste.

6. Small fresh piece of fruit – 1 point
Choose a pear, banana, orange or an apple

7. 1 T. Sunflower seeds (hulled) – 1 point
These are really satisfying too and at only 1 pt. per tablespoon, you can afford to have 1 or 2 or 3!

8. Weight Watchers or Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt – 1 point
There are tons of flavors to choose from. One of my favorites is the Amaretto Cheesecake!

9. 16 animals crackers (depends on brand the amount) – 3 points
I always like these and eat them slow to make them last a while.

10. Portioned fruit cups – 1 point
These have to be the unsweetened ones! Try the flavored applesauce, like mango, strawberry or orange. They are yummy!

11. Low-fat string cheese – 1 point
Cheese tastes good almost any time!

12. 5 saltine crackers – 1 point
This is good when you feel like having something crunchy & salty!

13. Dairy Queen small vanilla soft serve cone – 3 points
Can you believe it? You Can get ice cream treats!

14. Dairy Queen Starkiss – 2 points
This just as yummy as the vanilla cone!

15. Cup of International flavored coffee- 1 point
Nice and hot, sweet too, this will hit the spot!

16. Sugar-free popsicle – 0 points
There are various brands around if you look.

17. Healthy Choice fudge bars – 1 point
These are to die for!!! Yummy!!! Love them!!!

18. Kellogg’ (pre-packaged) Rice Krispy treat – 2 points
These will bring back childhood memories.

19. Orville Redenbacher’s 100 calorie pack of popcorn – 1 point
This tastes so good while watching television!

20. Small salad with 1 T. Vinegar-based dressing – 1 point
I love to measure 1 T. of red wine vinaigrette dressing in a small custard cup and then get a bag of salad and eat it like chips and dip. Grab a small handful of salad and dip it in the dressing. The salad greens are zero points so you are only counting the dressing which goes a long way when you eat it this way.
