3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp Bars Review

When a friend recommended that I try the new 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp Bars, I was a little reluctant. I didn’t want to give up my trusted original 3 Musketeer bar with its low fat chocolaty sweetness. With a little encouragement and a promise that I would love the new 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp Bar, I gave in and bought one. I am glad that I did.

The 3 Musketeer Truffle Crisp Bars is described on the silver metallic looking wrapper as whipped-up chocolate truffle on a crisp layer enrobed in real milk chocolate. It is an accurate description yet I wasn’t prepared for the snap of the first bite. There are two sensations when you bite into a Truffle Crisp bar. First the soft texture of the chocolate truffle and chocolate covering, and immediately after the quick snap of the crispy layer.

The crispy layer turned out to be something other than a cookie, which I had expected. It looks like a crispy malt layer although I don’t know for sure. It tasted good and gave the candy bar a unique bite. I do think the company should have labeled the product more clearly. The nutritional values were labeled very clearly in comparison to the product ingredients.

Anyone that likes the taste of a 3 Musketeers candy bar will like the taste of 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp Bars. The truffle part of the bar is a creamy 3 Musketeer filling. The only major difference between a 3 Musketeers bar and a 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp Bar is the crispy layer. The main similarity is the popular 3 Musketeer taste.

The 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp Bars come two to a pack, but both bars equal one serving and weighs 1.1 ounces. One serving has 170 calories, 9 grams fat, 6 grams saturated fat, and only 18 grams of sugars and 30 milligrams of sodium. Considering the amount of low calorie, low fat chocolate snacks on the market, the 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp Bars maybe isn’t the best choice for dieters. However the taste is very chocolaty and is slightly unexpected.

Strangely enough, the only place that we have found them yet is at a local gas station, but I am sure that Krogers, Walmart and other large retailers will soon have them in stock. I paid around a dollar for the 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp Bars.

So try a 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp Bar and have a good candy break.
