Is there any truth to the rumor that cayenne pepper can kill cancer cells? According the American Medical Association it is true. Capsaicin is the main ingredient in cayenne pepper. I don’t know how much truth there is to it but someone that I know has lung cancer and gave up using a drug that is supposed to slow down the growth of the cancerous tumor in her lung. The drug was causing mouth canker sores as well as other side effects that were making her ill.
She was on oxygen and was unable to get out of the house on her own. She is now using Cayenne Pepper to kill the lung cancer that she purchased from a health food store. She is in her 80’s so the doctor doesn’t want to give her radiation or chemotherapy. They were trying to make her comfortable and slow down the growth of the lung cancer. I don’t know where she heard about the Cayenne Pepper cancer cure but whether it is working or not, she is feeling better, not using oxygen, and is driving again.
I got online to see if there was any truth to the rumor or that Cayenne Pepper killed cancer cells and found the website at the end of this article. If I had cancer and knew that my prognosis was a slow death with no hope, I would try about anything. According to this article you should start taking the Cayenne Pepper in smaller doses until your body adjusts to it. When you first start using it, it seems that eliminating it through your wastes is a little bit on the hot side. That doesn’t sound very pleasant but worth it if it works. It is supposed to be very good at curing prostate cancer in some studies. Since the cancer cells in prostate cancer are much the same as other kinds of cancer cells this is a very exciting discovery.
“Hot Pepper Kills Prostate Cancer Cells in Study” is an article published in Reuters on March 16, 2006. Dr. Soren Lehmann of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine said the following; “Capsaicin had a profound anti-proliferative effect on human prostate cancer cells in culture.” The Capsaicin in laymen’s terms actually caused the cancer cells to commit suicide. This process is called apoptosis.
In studies done on mice with prostate cancer, the growth of cancerous tumors slowed down considerably when using Cayenne Pepper on them in laboratory experiments.
Not only is Cayenne Pepper good for killing cancer cells, but it is also very beneficial for your heart.
The best way to take it is orally. Mix a half-teaspoon of cayenne preferably in purified water and drink it. The benefits are immediate. You can increase the dosage to a teaspoon and your body will quickly adjust. I hope that there are more studies that show how healthy and beneficial that Cayenne Pepper, herbs and other homeopathic remedies are to not only mice, but also us humans as well.
