Looking for the best place to get a bunch of great tasting wings for a great price in New York City? Well then you have come to the right place. As a diehard sports fan, and a self-proclaimed food connoisseur, I can definitely steer you in the right direction. I’ve been to all of the chicken spots in the Big Apple, from East Side Chicken to the West End Bar & Grill. I can tell you where to get your wings, when to get them and what to ask for. So, I will hold you back from getting your wings no longer, for here are your top 3 Buffalo Wing restaurants in all of New York City.
3. Blondie’s – Blondie’s has several locations in Manhattan area, and all of them are just as good as the next. And while Blondie’s has a great menu full of wonderful foods, there are few better places to order a chicken wing than this trendy, upscale, New York bar. Blondie’s has all kinds of wings. They have teriyaki, barbeque, extremely hot-buffalo sauce, hot-buffalo sauce, mild-buffalo sauce, medium-buffalo sauce, fried and plain baked wings. The place is also very fashionable and is an extremely conversational place for all of you diehard sports fans out there. But you won’t notice any of it if you go there on a Monday night and take part in their all-you-can eat-wings meal. You get all of the wings you can eat for an affordable $11.99, and the wings are just about as tasty as you are going to find in all of New York City. I recommend you get the teriyaki wings. I know it is not your traditional plate of wings, but trust me, it is worth the price of admission to order teriyaki wings. And if you don’t like them, just order another plate traditional buffalo style wings. Hey, it’s all you can eat. Take advantage!
2. Town Tavern – This bar is one of the best in town. It has flat screens, great waitresses and an upstairs floor full of entertainment. But the best thing about Town Tavern is being there on a Saturday. Because between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m., you can eat all the wings you want for just $.10 a wing. It is a beautiful proposition and you don’t see many deals like this in New York City. And at $.10 a wing, it is a much better deal than all you can eat for $10 or $15 because, let’s face it, no matter how manly some of us think we are, nobody can eat 100 or 150 wings. Considering the average maximum amount of wings a person can consume is between 40 and 50 wings, you’re going to spend $4 or $5 maximum, and you have to have a really big appetite just to do that. To wash it all down you can drink $2 Twisted Teas and get a little buzz with your wings. But Town Tavern’s wings go down just fine by themselves. Their wings are just plan, buffalo style wings, that will leave you licking your fingers all the way home.
1. Croxely Ales – There is no question in my mind that this is the best place in town to get your wings. They have barbeque wings and several different levels of buffalo wings, and both flavors are just full of great taste. On Mondays and Wednesdays the wings are only $.10 a wing, and on Saturdays and Sundays the wings are only $.20 a pop. So you will definitely get plenty of bang for your buck when you eat at Croxley Ales. And to wash all of that good chicken down, Croxley Ales has the best selection of beer in the city, and maybe in the country to tell you the truth. The ambiance at this place is wonderful, too. It’s full of young 20 somethings from the lower east side and it has plenty of banter and conversation going on at all times. Their fries are great and so are their nachos, so you definitely will not be lacking in the sides department if you are looking for something to accompany your wings. But trust me, the wings go perfectly by themselves. And if you are a pro-wing eater like myself, I suggest you order 20 buffalo wings and 20 barbeque wings, and just have a field day. But you’re welcome to mix it up with some sides and drinks anyway you want it. Either way, you’ll enjoy the wings at Croxley Ales no matter how you eat them.
